Virginia and her team have created something truly special in Phippsburg, Maine. Reviewers consistently praise her expertise as an oyster sommelier, with the experience going far beyond simple tasting to become an immersive education in local oyster varieties, pairings, and coastal life. The setting on the water draws constant acclaim, and many guests rave about the homemade focaccia and thoughtful details like oysters presented on chilled rocks. The half-day seafood adventure includes a boat ride with Captain Joe to visit an oyster farm, where guests learn about cultivation and enjoy freshly shucked oysters with cocktails. What stands out most is the genuine passion and hospitality from Virginia, Warwick, Andy, and Joe. Multiple reviewers mention feeling like they're hanging out with knowledgeable friends rather than attending a formal class. The relaxed yet refined atmosphere creates memorable experiences, with many guests already planning return visits or following Virginia's Maine Oyster Trail guide to continue exploring. It's dog-friendly and clearly designed for both serious oyster enthusiasts and those just beginning to appreciate them. This is an authentic Maine coastal experience that manages to feel both tucked away and quintessentially local.

If you’re looking for a truly special coastal experience, Lady Oyster is absolute magic. From the moment you arrive, there’s a sense of salty air and effortless whimsy that sets the tone for something elevated yet welcoming. Virginia and her team are true hospitality experts. I found them to be warm, knowledgeable, and deeply passionate about what they do. The experience goes far beyond an oyster tasting; it’s a thoughtfully curated ecotourism and educational journey that leaves you appreciating the water, the craft, and the story behind every shell. The oyster tasting itself is top tier. It was fresh, briny, and beautifully presented - the perfect complementary foodie experience to the educational component. And the lobster roll add-on? Always worth it! Don’t skip it. I hosted my (very tame!) bachelorette outing here, and it was exactly the elevated, memorable experience I was hoping for. We felt genuinely welcomed by both the staff and fellow patrons, which made the afternoon feel intimate and celebratory without ever being over the top. I would absolutely go again and highly recommend Lady Oyster to anyone looking for a unique, luxurious, and meaningful outing on the midcoast. It’s a standout experience that feels both special and authentic. I am very much looking for to visiting the new parlor space this summer!
